A drone comb or a drone rearing frame is a normal frame, which has drone cells. They are specially built by the bees for drone rearing and they differ to other worker brood cells by being a bit bigger. Many beekeepers supply the bees with frames that only have a small strip of wax foundation at the top edge of the frame. The bees then build the drone cells starting from the foundation wax in the free space in the frame.
